Factory Farms - Its time for a change!

I run across links and sites all the time that boggle my mind with just how inhumanely humans can treat animals. And the disregard people can feel about another person's food in terms of "poisoning" it with chemicals, hormones, and filthy food. So here is the start of my collection of videos and links - some are graphic and I apologize but there is no use in hiding your head in the sand.

Sick, Sick and Just Plain Sick - Chicks are living creatures....not "widgets" on an assembly line. The number of drops, chutes, and tumbles these poor chicks are subjected to just makes me furious. There is no excuse.

Does Anyone in Factory Farming Have a Heart? - Another display of careless disregard for these live creatures. Who could have ever thought it was acceptable to propel day old chicks fifteen feet into the air to land on solid ground?

Cornish Cross Monstrosities - This video shows the life of Cornish Cross factory raised chickens. One look at these birds and you will see how "deformed" and horrific they have become. I tried raising some free range and their genetics still caused them suffering. I won't raise them again - nor will we ever eat these "frankenchickens".

This Just Made Me Cry - People with no hearts - that's all I can say. How cheap does our food have to be? And at what moral price? It costs more to produce meat and eggs differently - but isn't it worth it???? If this was my only choice for meat I might go vegetarian too. But the other option is, of course, to find a producer with values you share and who treats the animals with respect and compassion throughout their entire life.
