Navajo-Churro Lamb

We have purebred and cross-bred Navajo-Churro available and are taking names on our waiting list.  Lambs are usually ready in the late Fall / early Winter timeframe.  When the time gets close the lambs will be offered to those on the list - you can get a half lamb or whole lamb at that time or defer until next year.

For questions or to get on the waiting list

please email us at admin@winddancerranch.us

Purebred Navajo-Churro $5/lb based on hanging weight

Cross-bred Navajo-Churro $4/lb based on hanging weight

The hanging weight for whole lambs ranges from 30 to 45 lbs for the cross breds and 25 to 35 lbs for the purebreds.  These lambs are smaller than your typical commercial lambs so each of the cuts - chops, legs, etc - will look smaller than you are used to.  But the taste is amazingly sweet and mild.

Our lambs are 100% grass fed living in pasture during Spring and Summer and getting our home grown hay in Winter.

When you get a lamb or half lamb from us you get to choose how the meat is cut and wrapped.  You can choose to get your whole or half lamb uncut if you want to take it to your own cut and wrap facility or cook it whole.  Or you can choose to use Meridian Meat Market as most of our customers do for the cut and wrap.  Meridian currently charges $60.  (Half a lamb is half these charges.)  This charge will be added to your total for the lamb so you only have to write one check.  We will haul the meat to and from Meridian at no charge as part of our service.  Please be aware that if Meridian has slight price fluctuations you will be responsible for the exact amount they charge.

To specify your cut and wrap choices for Meridian you will need to complete the cut and wrap instructions form:  cut and wrap form.  We highly recommend the vacuum seal option as its a very professional packaging that lasts a long time in the freezer.  Processing typically takes 2 to 4 weeks.  After its done you can pick up your meat at the farm or have it delivered on one of our delivery days.
